  • Coordinates show the position of a point on a graph
  • Coordinates are written using two numbers inside brackets separated by a comma
  • The first number represents the x coordinate and tells us how far to move along the x axis
  • The second number represents the y coordinate and tells us how far to move up the y axis
  • The point where the x and y axes cross is called the origin, with coordinates 0, 0
  • To plot a point, move the specified number of units along the x axis and up the y axis
  • The coordinates of a point can be determined by identifying how far the point is along the x axis and up the y axis
