  • The set of inputs to the function is called the domain
  • The set of outputs of the function is called the range
  • Functions can be represented using function notation, such as f(x) or g(x)

  • The function describes what operations to perform on the input
  • Alternative notation, such as f: x ->, is sometimes used to represent functions
