Inverse Proportionality Graphs
- Inversely proportional variables have a reciprocal graph
- The graph of y = 1/x has a general shape where y becomes very large when x is very small, and y becomes very small when x is very large
- The graph gets closer and closer to the axes without ever reaching them
- Any inversely proportional relationship will have a similar graph as long as the value of k is positive
- To graph an inversely proportional relationship, plot the given point and then use the rules of inverse proportionality to find other points on the graph
- Join the points with a smooth curve to complete the graph
