  • Ratios can be scaled by multiplying or dividing both sides by the same value
  • Scaling a ratio creates an equivalent ratio
  • Rewriting a ratio is an important step in longer ratio exam questions
  • Example: ratio of 2 to 3 can be scaled up to 12 to 18
  • Example: lemonade recipe uses 2 jugs of water and 3 lemons
  • Example: if using 8 jugs of water, 12 lemons are needed
