Simplifying Ratios
- A ratio can be simplified by dividing both sides by a common factor
- A ratio is in its simplest form if it cannot be simplified any further
- In an exam, you might be asked to give the answer to a ratio question in fully simplified form
- To simplify a ratio, divide both sides of the ratio by a common factor
- The ratio 20 to 80 can be simplified to the ratio 1 to 4
