  • Integers can be ordered based on their size
  • To order integers, draw a number line
  • Each big space between the larger vertical lines represents a distance of 5 between numbers
  • Each small space between the smaller vertical lines represents a distance of 1 between numbers
  • Label the positive numbers on the number line by counting the small spaces after 0
  • Label the negative numbers on the number line by counting the small spaces before 0
  • Write the numbers in order, starting with the smallest and finishing with the largest
  • The correct order for the given integers is: -8, -2, 3, 6, 9
