Adding Limits of Accuracy
- When adding two measurements together, the limits of accuracy for the result depend on the bounds of the original measurements.
- To calculate the limits of accuracy for the new measurement, combine the lower bounds to find the new lower bound and combine the upper bounds to find the new upper bound.
- Example: One bag of apples weighs 3 kilograms and one bag of bananas weighs 7 kilograms. The maximum possible combined weight is 11 kilograms and the minimum possible combined weight is 9 kilograms.
