Proportionality in Ratios
- Ratios are a way of writing the relationship between two quantities
- The two quantities in a ratio are always directly proportional to each other
- Ratios can be scaled up by multiplying both numbers in the ratio by the same thing
- The relationship can be written as y is kx
- The two numbers in a ratio are always directly proportional to each other
- The price of a model of a famous statue is proportional to the height of the model
- A unit ratio is a ratio where one of the numbers is 1
- The unit ratio between a model's price and its height is 1 to 20cm
- The constant of proportionality is equal to 20
