  • A point is a position in space with no length or width
  • A vertex is the corner where two lines meet at a point
  • An angle is a measure of turn
  • Angles are measured in degrees
  • There are 360 degrees in a circle
  • Smaller turns can be represented by breaking 360 degrees into fractional parts
  • Acute angles are less than 90 degrees
  • Right angles are exactly 90 degrees
  • Obtuse angles are between 90 and 180 degrees
  • Reflex angles are between 180 and 360 degrees
  • It is not necessary to measure angles without a protractor
  • It is important to be able to recognize and identify different types of angles
