nth Term of an Arithmetic Sequence
- An arithmetic sequence is a series of numbers with the same difference between successive terms
- The nth term of an arithmetic sequence can be found by multiplying the common difference by n and adding a constant
- The constant is found by comparing a term to the value of the expression for the nth term
- The same method can be applied to word problems involving arithmetic sequences
- In a word problem example, Adrian saves ��3.50 each month and starts with ��20, so the expression for his savings after n months is 3.5n + 20
- After 7 months, Adrian will have saved ��44.50
