  • Dividing two measurements with error intervals will result in a new value with a new error interval.
  • The range of possible answers when dividing measurements with error intervals can be large.
  • To calculate the minimum possible value when dividing, divide the minimum value of one measurement by the maximum value of the other measurement.
  • To calculate the maximum possible value when dividing, divide the maximum value of one measurement by the minimum value of the other measurement.
  • In an example of a van carrying boxes, the smallest possible number of boxes is found by dividing the lower bound of the total weight by the upper bound of the individual weight.
  • The largest possible number of boxes is found by dividing the upper bound of the total weight by the lower bound of the individual weight.
