Character Analysis

Lodovico

Lodovico is Desdemona’s cousin. He witnesses Othello slapping Desdemona, and bears witness to all the revelations regarding the drama that has unfolded over the two days in which the play was set. Also, he reports the evidence that uncovers Iago as the villain (which we already knew) from a letter found in Roderigo’s pocket. His role is mainly as an expositional witness, and he is the one to tell everyone about the tragedy and all the deaths that occurred in the final Act.
