Demonstrative adjectives

  • These adjectives point out or demonstrate a specific noun. They agree with the gender and number of the noun they modify. For example, in the phrase este libro (this book), este is masculine and singular which agrees with the masculine singular noun libro.
Singular Plural
Este libro (this book, masc.) Estos libros (these, masc.)
Esta casa (this house, fem.) Estas casas (these, fem.)
Ese auto (that car, masc.) Esos autos (those cars, masc.)
Esa chica (that, feminine) Esas chicas (those girls, fem.)
